Basic Rights Oregon Eugene/Springfield

Basic Rights Oregon is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, statewide advocacy organization whose mission is to end discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in Oregon. We do that by mobilizing our supporters to elect fair-minded candidates to office, lobby elected officials on legislation affecting LGBT Oregonians, fight anti-LGBT ballot measures, and educate the public. Basic Rights Eugene/Springfield (BRES) is a group of volunteers who carry out BRO's work at the local level, with a local flavor. BRES is staffed by BRO's two Eugene-based organizers.

HIV Alliance

One of the largest components of reaching and supporting MSM is by supporting the local MSM community. This is both a means of getting prevention messages to MSM and of helping create a community that supports MSM in making healthy behavioral changes. We will continue to support the larger Queer community in issues of queer rights, issues of poverty, employment, healthcare, education, etc.

Religious Response Network

The Religious Response Network is a gathering of people of faith in the greater Eugene-Springfield area who support the civil and religious rights of all persons and families, and oppose discrimination against any single group within our communities, in particular, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning individuals and families.

We come from a variety of religious traditions and believe deeply in religious freedom. Our practices vary, our sacred texts reflect diverse understandings of the Holy One, our beliefs are multiple. Yet, we carry the same deep longing for our communities. We want our daily lives to be nurtured toward living lives of hope, and we desire peace and justice to reign.

Religious freedom and religious diversity have made our nation great. We wish to nurture religious pluralism, the support of people of all faiths and no faiths. We support the right of all to live a safe and respected life in our community.
